The Backward Glance

I had planned that last year’s Avant would reflect upon itself in words and pictures as it proceeded, but we never got beyond a few snaps of the opening at The Couch Gallery. So, by way of recompense, and to set the scene for this year’s uber-festival, here are some of 2009’s highlights.

To begin, Sonic Vigil at Burges’ princely neo-gothic cathedral of St. Finbarre’s, dedicated to Cork’s patron saint in 1870. July 11th, and the heavens opened . . .
